We finally broke down and bought a large flat tv. By we, I mean my husband. I rarely watch tv. When he asked me what he should do with the box I told him to save it. Not knowing what in the world I was going to do with a huge skinny box.
And then it hit me......
A 4 foot tall Eiffel Tower that I can serve French Macaroons on for my party!!
If you are interested in tackling this project first you will need a large box.
I just free handed the tower. If you're more crafty than me you might be able to find or make a more accurate template.
Then I cut it out (with a kitchen knife....I couldn't find a box cutter)
I used the first one as a template for the second one.
The second one I cut right in half and taped each piece to the front and back of the first piece. Then I cut out four shelves.
I used frog tape (painters tape) to tape everything in place. Yeah again...lack of any better ideas or glue.
The next step was Mod Podging vintage sheet music. You can use whatever you like, but I had a ton of the sheet music left and wanted to use it up.
This was the most time consuming. Make sure you have at least a couple of hours. It took me four hours between trying to Mod Podge and chasing the tiny tot terror around and a couple of stops to play Barbies and eat broccoli and cheese.
Then because honestly my lines weren't all that sharp and you can tell it was just a bit on the crooked side I decided to add ruffled crepe streamers.
I've never done ruffled crepe before so I turned to Google for a tutorial.
How Does She has a good one here

Then I hot glued them on.
I printed out a banner on pink card stock paper, stuck it to a wooden stick and put it on top. Graphic from Graphics Fairy
I added "Patisserie" to the banner since I plan to use it to serve treats. You can add any words you want. I just used the paint program on my computer to add the words.
I've started making Cameo Chocolates as one of the party favors. I put some on there just to see how they looked.
Woohooo!!!
Desired effect!
A giant Eiffel Tower that looks pretty to serve pretty treats on!
Also want to give a shout out to Amy @ Maison Decor
